"This afternoon, we do have new and unusually specific information about where al Qaida would like to attack. As a result, today, the United States Government is raising the threat level to Code Orange for the financial services sector in New York City, Northern New Jersey and Washington, D.C."
Those are the words Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge made on August 1, 2004, just hours after Senator John Kerry accepted the nomination as the Democratic Presidential nominee.
When terror alerts are made, they're sending a message of fear and distraction to Americans as well as the rest of the world. Just a few days after the fact, all the major news networks then told us that this is based on intelligence that is 3 years old. They didn't tell us that in the original report. That part didn't make it into the quick clips on the evening news.
"Intelligence and law enforcement officials 'had not yet found concrete evidence that a terror plot or preparatory surveillance operations were still under way'...", according to the New York Times.
Most of the al Qaeda surveillance of five financial institutions that led to a new terrorism alert Sunday was conducted before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and authorities are not sure whether the casing of the buildings has continued, numerous intelligence and law enforcement officials said yesterday.
More than half a dozen government officials interviewed yesterday, who declined to be identified because classified information is involved, said that most, if not all, of the information about the buildings seized by authorities in a raid in Pakistan last week was about three years old, and possibly older. (Read more from Yahoo News...)
Now, I'm sure you know where this is going...
Why would the United States Homeland Security Department raise the terror level based on information that's three years old? ... Especially on targeted cities, allowing "terrorists" opportunity to change plans to other locations?
If you saw snippets of the announcement, you probably missed this gem from (Bush-apointed) Tom Ridge when he announced the terror threat
"But we must understand that the kind of information available to us today is the result of the President’s leadership in the war against terror."In short:
- John Kerry? Who's that? That doesn't matter... pay him no attention... WE"RE UNDER ATTACK OMG
- Oh, and this message wouldn't be possibly if it weren't for our great President's "leadership in the war against TERROR."
- PS: This is really old intelligence, but that's okay, VOTE BUSH!
