My home state Senator and top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Richard Lugar, is asking for an exit strategy - a plan "B" - and my former home state governor (when I lived in Ohio) George Voinovich (now an Ohio Senator) agreed.
"It's time for the United States to put together a comprehensive plan for gradual disengagement in Iraq," Voinovich said. "We're running out of time and I don't think it's fair to the next administration to say, 'Hey by the way, we're leaving this baby for you guys to figure out.' "
Thank you Dick and George for giving up your loyalty to your party's mistakes. They're setting an example, showing that a politician doesn't HAVE to nod his or her head at everything the administration does just because of political party. Thank you.
