call your representatives!
There are 2 very important votes getting ready to happen.
TONIGHT, the lame-duck congress will vote on expanding off-coast oil drilling.
Call your Rep!
If you live around me, call Rep. Mike Pence -- (202) 225-3021
Tell him to vote no on S.3711. Regardless of the opinions of drilling off-shore and the environmental dangers, we need to move away from our dependence on oil and legislating more area to be sucked dry does not encourage it.
ALSO,
A bill (ONDCP Reauthorization bill) is expected to be rushed to the floor this week including the re-approval of toxic, mold-like fungi called mycoherbicides (sect. 1111 of bill) to kill illicit drug crops in other countries. At least that's what they want people to know.
These chemicals have been tested for 30 years and are known to kill not just drug crops, but also animals, plants, and people!
I can see it already... they're going to try to pass biological weapons as the latest force in the war on drugs. No joke - the war on drugs used once again as a political smokescreen.
It will be brought to the Senate floor under a unanimous consent agreement and to the House floor under suspension of the rules--both of which limit debate.
Find your senators and representatives:
Capitol Switchboard: (202) 224-3121
By the way, I vote we change the name of the Republican Party to the Smokescreen Party. It's fitting.
