So, in case you didn't know, there's been some rioting going on in Australia:

Sydney's racial violence erupted at Cronulla last Sunday when some 3,000 people, some yelling racist chants, attacked people of Middle East appearance, saying they were defending their beach from Lebanese youth gangs. Police said white supremacists incited violence at Cronulla.

Lebanese and Muslim youths retaliated with two nights of violence in several different beachside suburbs.

Because of this, their parliament had an emergency sitting to pass laws allowing police to "lock down" areas and also doubles the minimum sentence for rioting to 10 years. "Lock down" means they can search people and vehicles (at any time, for any reason, really).

Now think about this.

You have riots erupting based on race and religion.

"The spirit of Christmas has simply disappeared out of this city," said NSW Police Commisioner Ken Moroney. "It is up to all of us, not only the police, but people of goodwill, to bring the spirit of Christmas back into this city."

Way to bring the religions and races back together.
