i was robbed at gunpoint last night
*click* "empty your pockets, i'm serious"
Josh, Jesse, Tara and I were in Broad Ripple (north of Indianapolis) last night to see our friend's band play. It's 1 am and we're heading to my car. Just as I open my door someone comes out of the shadows (sounds corny, but true). I knew as soon as I looked at him that something wasn't right.
He pulled out his gun, pulled back on the top, and said "empty your pockets."
He was quite serious.
We were a little stunned, obviously. For a few seonds we just stood there. Then he said he was serious... and then that he has nothing to live for. Meanwhile his larger friend walks over to my side of the car. He asked for my wallet and everything in my pockets. I handed him the wallet and emptied my pockets into the car. He took my cell phone. I said something about how my keys were attached to my wallet, and for some reason (with the little bit of conscience he had) he took all my keys off the wallet and threw them onto the seat.
They told us to walk the opposite direction of them and not try anything. A girl was walking down the street towards them and we tried to yell at her to not go that way, but she didn't even act like she knew we were there.
The cops took forever to get there.
I have no cash, no credit cards, no ID, no gas in my car, and no cell phone. My phone isn't insured and out of plan, my credit cards are all maxed, I needed to renew my license soon anyway, and he got the whole dollar I have to my name.
Josh had just cashed his $3-400 paycheck. I just cancelled my cards and they were apparently used quite a bit. Damnit. The bank card is a pain in the ass too. I can't just say it was stolen... i have to drive to Indy after the transactions have cleared my account (and taken me in the negative) and fill out paperwork. update: apparently they also racked up an hour of calls on my cell phone, which was already over my minutes for the month. And I don'thave cell phone insurance, so now I have to get a new cell phone and contract.
Bah. At least we're all alive.
