Does anyone have any experience with Director MX or Lingo?

My entire Advanced Multimedia class is working on a DVD that has some functionality when put in a computer. Somehow I got stuck with the most complex job.

The Director portion has a "Course Planner" module that grabs an XML file of course requirements from the Internet. It then would parse it and display it how we want it to. The plan was to make it so that the user could choose their option and enter their scores. They could then save the information to their hard drive and later open it again to edit.
