NOT SAFE FOR WORK
The story of 'Jeff Gannon' or 'James Guckert', the fake news reporter with a fake name working for a fake news organization, is getting even MORE interesting.
He had access to the White House Press Briefings and may be responsible for outing an undercover CIA operative because he was given access to classified CIA documents.
Here he is at a White House press briefing:
Now I've found out that he had access to the White House Press Briefings before 'Talon News' even started and that he owes $20,700 in state income tax to Delaware.
CNN.com hasn't touched the story since last Thursday. They never even mentioned anything about him being an escort or his gay escort websites.
Christian Science Monitor (also on ABCnews.com) just posted to their site about it today.
CBSNews.com and FoxNews.com posted the AP story.
NONE of the above TV news media mentioned the classified documents or outing of a CIA agent from 2002. The Washington Post sure did though. It's the best coverage I've seen.
Where is that liberal media bias we hear about all the time?
The point isn't that he's gay. It isn't even that his fake news organization had press priveledges. The point is the hypocracy involved. How is a gay escort going to put down homosexuality in his stories? Why did the White House allow him in even before the news organization started? Why did he have access to classified CIA documents? And what's the deal with Scott McClellan?
It all draws a clear conclusion that he was there for one reason only: to throw Bush some softball questions when the real ones got too tough.
Isn't the new media refreshing? /sarcasm
