Man...

Teaching closed-minded conservatives about genetics is hard work.

But it's pointless anyway, right?

He won't listen to a word I say unless I consider his hateful, inconsiderate advice and choose to not be gay.

But he ultimately wins because I'm a sinner that's going to hell.

ps: man, i spent some time on that math. check it out. i might post that seperately here.

Remember when Illinois Republican Senate candidate Alan Keyes said that homosexuality is "selfish hedonism" and that Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter is a sinner?

It wasn't long before the blogosphere found his daughter's xanga, which clearly said she was a lesbian and even had pictures of she and her girlfriend.

Now that the election is over and her father lost overwhelmingly to Barrack Obama (not a shocker), Maya Marcel-Keyes publically came out on Valentine's Day when she spoke at a gay rights rally.
Daughter of conservative Republican Alan Keyes calls herself 'liberal queer'

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland (AP) -- The daughter of conservative Republican Alan Keyes referred to herself Monday as a "liberal queer" and urged support for gay and lesbian young people who have been deserted by their families.

Maya Marcel-Keyes, 19, addressed a rally sponsored by the gay-rights group Equality Maryland, saying she was motivated to speak out because of her rocky relationship with her parents and the recent death of a friend who had fallen ill after being thrown out of the house by his family.

Marcel-Keyes told several hundred supporters that her sexuality had created a rift in her relationship with her parents.

"Things just came to a head. Liberal queer plus conservative Republican just doesn't mesh well," she said. "That was making my life a little bit turbulent."

Later, Marcel-Keyes told CNN her parents "were not too pleased" when they learned she was a lesbian, but she said she loves them "very much, and they love me. They can't support my activities."

Her father, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Illinois last year, created a stir in August when he said during an interview that homosexuality was "selfish hedonism" and that Vice President Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter was a sinner.

In a statement issued Monday night, Keyes said: "My daughter is an adult, and she is responsible for her own actions. What she chooses to do has nothing to do with my work or political activities."

Marcel-Keyes said she received an outpouring of support when disclosing her sexual orientation, but her friend did not.

"Like me, he grew up queer in a conservative household," she said. But where she got hundreds of e-mails, offers of a place to stay and a college scholarship, "he'd been out there two years and had gotten nothing."

"And the worst part is, he isn't the only one," Marcel-Keyes said.

If I were a parent, I'd be pissed too:
Parents challenge weekly Bible classes
STAUNTON, Virginia (AP) -- When Heather and Logan Ward's son entered public kindergarten this fall, they were shocked to discover that pupils were taken from class to a nearby church for weekly Bible lessons.
This is a direct violation of the constitution. Someone needs to be punished for this.
The Bible classes began in Virginia in 1929 after a majority of students failed a simple Bible test.

The lessons were conducted inside public school classrooms until 1948, when the Supreme Court ruled that the lessons violated the principle of separation of church and state. A few years later, the court revisited the issue and approved classes held away from school premises.

Most towns have done away with the classes, but the 20 school divisions that have kept the classes generally stretch along Interstate 81 in western Virginia, known to some as the state's "Bible Belt." In the Staunton area, more than 80 percent of first-, second- and third-graders participate.
President John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute, a neo-con organization that "defends Christian rights", said the classes "are wholly consistent with the First Amendment and this nation's religious heritage."
Beverly Ridell, who grew up going to the Staunton schools, teaches first- and second-grade Sunday school at church and opposes religious classes during school time.

"I asked them whether Jesus was a Christian and they said 'yes.' When I said, 'Jesus was a Jew,' one girl said, 'But Jesus was a good person,"' Ridell said.

"If Christians are good people, what are Jews? These are 6- and 7-year-old kids. This is an age where what's right and what's wrong are clear and unambiguous."
What a winning strategy: instill bigotry while they're young.

That's nice and all that we are on top of the nuclear warheads, but #6 for quality of life and not even on the charts for environmental treaties? Sounds about right.

If you want to be heavily armed and pushing profits for the rich, it's clear that the U.S. is the place to be.

Of course, this is all based on that source.

Chris Rock is a comedian, you moron. The joke's on you.

Read Drudge's report titled "HOST CHRIS ROCK SHOCK: ONLY GAYS WATCH OSCARS", which features quotes from "one veteran Hollywood mogul", "One nominated actress", and Rock himself.

Then watch his comments on the 2nd most unbalanced show on television, Hannety and Colmes.

Bush Renominates 20 Failed Judicial Nominees
President Bush set up a showdown with Senate Democrats on Monday by renominating 20 failed judicial nominees, many of whom had been denounced by critics as "right-wing extremists."

The renewed battle over the nominees promises to produce plenty of fireworks as Bush begins his second term with an expanded Senate Republican majority and still-defiant Senate Democrats.

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, a Tennessee Republican, has threatened to change the Senate's rules to prevent any more procedural hurdles known as filibusters against judicial nominees.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada has vowed Democrats are "not going to cut and run" from any such fight.

...

A simple majority of 51 votes would be needed in the 100-member Senate to change the rules and end filibusters.
Bush Renominates Homophobic Judge
"President Bush recently admitted that he did not know that the state of Florida prohibits gay residents from adopting children. Yet, it was his recess appointment - William Pryor - who cast the deciding vote days earlier to uphold this ban. If President Bush refuses to review the records of his own nominees for lifetime appointments, then the Senate should." -Dave Noble, National Stonewall Democrats Executive Director.

Sidenote: I think my blog is getting more and more depressing. There's never good news :-/.
