jackola: (back to the future)
Faultfinders and Flakes
How do you deal with personalities that bug you to no end? Melissa is so fed up with her husband's finger-pointing and faultfinding that she's threatening to pack up the kids and hit the road. Also, a whiner who complains about EVERYTHING, and a dad who is such a flake that he almost didn't make it to the show. Whether it's you or a loved one who has a difficult personality, Dr. Phil has advice for getting things to change.
That's from an email that was forwarded to me. Here's what the website says:
Is your personality poisoning your relationship? Dr. Phil has advice for faultfinders, flakes and whiners whose personalities are wearing down their loved ones.

Faultfinder
"Living with a negative person sucks the life right out of you," says Melissa who is tired of her husband Dwayne's finger-pointing, faultfinding and constant criticism.
Melissa is my half sister. That's her and her husband Dwayne in the picture. He's is in the army, and from what I hear it's about how his personality is very hardened because of it (but that's what my crazy mom says).

So, if you want to see my half sister and her husband on tv, watch Dr. Phil on Thursday at 3pm.

Can someone tape it for me? lol.

UPDATE: Shortly after I wrote this entry, Capitol Hill Blue pulled the stories, citing that they did not have the proper sources. For example:
This June 4, 2004, story – written by former CHB Editor Teresa Hampton – quotes unnamed sources as saying the President’s mood swings and erratic behavior has White House aides worried. The story, as written, did not quote a single named source and Hampton, when queried, could not provide sufficient background on her sources. Based on that, the story has been removed from our web site because it failed Capitol Hill Blue's new fact check policy which went into effect on September 1, 2003.

So, first White House aides tell us that Bush is going ape shit...
June 4, 2004
President George W. Bush’s increasingly erratic behavior and wide mood swings has the halls of the West Wing buzzing lately as aides privately express growing concern over their leader’s state of mind.

In meetings with top aides and administration officials, the President goes from quoting the Bible in one breath to obscene tantrums against the media, Democrats and others that he classifies as “enemies of the state.”

Worried White House aides paint a portrait of a man on the edge, increasingly wary of those who disagree with him and paranoid of a public that no longer trusts his policies in Iraq or at home.

“It reminds me of the Nixon days,” says a longtime GOP political consultant with contacts in the White House. “Everybody is an enemy; everybody is out to get him. That’s the mood over there.”

Then a few months later it's made publice that Dubya was prescribed some anti-depressants....
July 28, 2004
President George W. Bush is anti-depressant drugs to control his erratic behavior, Capitol Hill Blue has learned.

The prescription drugs were administered by Col. Richard J. Tubb, the White House physician.

Tubb prescribed the anti-depressants after Bush stalked off stage on July 7, refusing to answer reporters' questions about his relationship with indicted Enron executive Kenneth J. Lay.

Bush’s mental stability has become the topic of Washington whispers in recent months. Capitol Hill Blue first reported on June 4 about increasing concern among White House aides over the President’s wide mood swings and obscene outbursts.

...

“I was really very unsettled by him and I started watching everything he did and reading what he wrote and watching him on videotape. I felt he was disturbed,” Dr. Frank said. “He fits the profile of a former drinker whose alcoholism has been arrested but not treated.”

...

The doctors also worry about the wisdom of giving anti-depressant drugs to a person with a history of chemical dependency. Bush is an admitted alcoholic, although he never sought treatment in a formal program, and stories about his cocaine use as a younger man haunted his campaigns for Texas governor and his first campaign for President.

His behavior is noted by Republican political advisors and White House aides alike.
July 29, 2004
“Yes, there are concerns,” a top Republican political advisor admitted privately Wednesday. “The George W. Bush we see today is not the same, gregarious, back-slapping President of old. He’s moody, distrustful and withdrawn.”

I think he should just eat more pretzels.
jackola: (Bush - Four More Years?)
From Salon.com:
The former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee tells Salon that the White House has suppressed convincing evidence that Saudi government agents aided at least two of the hijackers

...

This past Sunday, Graham appeared on "Meet the Press," and afterward Kerry issued a statement: "These are serious allegations being made by a well-respected and informed leader. If the White House and the FBI did in fact block an investigation into the ties between the Saudi government and the 9/11 hijackers, then this would be a massive abuse of power."

I wish something would happen that would make it 100% clear to everyone - including the people that are covering their eyes in the name of God - that the Bush administration has been a national business transaction powered by fear, religion, and corporate greed.

You'd think it was already clear enough.

ALSO: Check out "Wax Bush, Vote 2004," where you can see a trailer for new documentary "A Voice for Choice", which is about the fight for women to have the right to choice, and centers around the Pro-Choice march on Washington in April, which was the largest in history.
